Agateware: Mixed Colored Clay Bodies


Agateware pottery is made by combining prepared mixtures of various colored clays to create a marbled effect that mimics the appearance of agate stone. During this workshop students will explore how to cut up and combine various clay bodies to create their own mixtures. Students will utilize their mixed clay to throw on the wheel or create slab pieces. On the second day of the workshop students will finish and glaze their pots.
