| Explore the potential of pastels to bring things to life. Through weekly demonstrations, students will learn about color, composition, value, and creating interest in a pastel still-life painting. Pastel materials will also be discussed, as different kinds of pastel and papers can make or break a good painting. Topics such as underpainting, colored and sanded papers, and ways to experiment will also be covered. Students will work from still lifes for most sessions and from a model for two.
