| Accurate rendering from observation is a basic skill and foundation to good painting. Working from a live model, students will delve into representing a true visual impression in oil while using a limited color palette. Working with a limited palette (white, yellow, red, and black) simplifies the mixing of flesh tones while keeping the painting harmonious. Emphasis will be placed on gesture, proportion, color mixing, and the flow of light. Discussions and demonstrations take place, as well as personalized instruction specific to the individual student’s level and needs.
