Painting with Cold Wax & Oils on Panel


Using cold wax and oil paints on wood panels is different than working in oils on canvas, as there is no risk of cracking once it is dry. Working on wood panels also allows for exploration of layering cold wax and oils. This class will cover the process and concept of working on wood panel and will include creating abstract compositions based on focal point, tension, and color. Students may use photos, landscape studies, or their imaginations as starting points.
