Out of the Fire: Horsehair & Naked Raku


Join Pete Syak to explore alternative raku firing methods. This workshop will focus on horsehair and naked raku techniques. Participants should bring 3 or 4 greenware pieces made from raku clay to the first session. The pieces will be prepared with terra sigillata, a burnishing and whitening agent, for bisque firing and Peter will discuss firing strategies for both horsehair and naked raku. The second session will be devoted to firing the bisqued pieces in the raku kiln.
