Fabricating Hinges for Jewelry


Study and practice the basic mechanics and fabrication of hinges. Students will learn how to measure, solder, and connect a functional, moving hinge. Start with a basic butt hinge, then move on to making a bracelet hinge with a pull-out pin. This workshop is a great introduction to creating movement and function in jewelry, lockets, and objects.
