Imagine the endless possibilities of taking wheel thrown vessels and using hand building techniques to turn them into something new. In this 5-week class, students will throw and trim smaller vessels. Then, they will use hand building techniques in conjunction with their thrown smaller vessels to make sculptural creatures, such a bird, a rabbit or something from their imagination. Once the objects have been fired, they can be glazed in either a simple style or elaborately. This class is designed for students who have intermediate to advanced wheel throwing experience and some experience with hand building. Materials fee covers the firing and glazes.
