Introduction to the Pottery Wheel (ages 9-12) - 9 weeks


Take the wheel in this introductory thrown-pottery class. Explore basic wheel-throwing techniques such as centering, opening, pulling, and shaping clay. Students will learn how to make functional forms such as bowls and mugs and will also learn how to decorate and glaze their pieces to finish them. While the emphasis of this class is on using the potter’s wheel, students will also explore hand building techniques.
