| Learn a combination of fabrication techniques that will focus on paper clay as a sculptural medium while creating forms inspired by contemporary ceramic sculpture. Unlike other clays, paper clay can also be joined wet-to-dry making it perfect for sculpture. Experiment with various methods to create hollow shapes, working with leather-hard paper clay slabs or by joining pieces using paper clay slip. Projects in the class will be bisque fired and surface color can be achieved with slips, stains or underglazes. Some materials provided.
