Repeat Pattern Designs from Press Molds

CourseGraphic
Learn how to make ceramic multiples using plaster press molds to create a repeated design. Begin by carving a low-relief in clay set on base. A one-piece plaster mold will then be cast from the carving. Students will then be able to create multiples by pressing clay slabs into the plaster negative.  A sequence of repeating designs will be the outcome, enhanced by the application of colored slips. Various styles of mounting will be discussed for the finished design.
