Nowadays its easier than ever to publish your own comic, thanks to the Internet...but how does a successful webcomic artist get their ideas off the ground? This course will cover various techniques for comics as well as discuss strategies for starting and maintaining a successful project on the web. Topics will be covered weekly include improving your artistic skills, safely & effectively using the web to your advantage, and managing consistant updates of your work online. The culmination of this class will be completing the first chapter/forward of your comic ready to be published online.

This course is for high school students preparing their portfolios for applying to college art programs. Students will have their current portfolios reviewed and skills assessed in order to evaluate what additional work they will need. Lessons will then be administered to help improve skills and prepare the strongest work possible for their college applications.
