This class will cover a variety of printmaking techniques, with an emphasis on monoprint, intaglio, relief, and mixed processes. With a push towards experimentation, students will be challenged to create new works toward the creation of an artist book, a suites of prints, or a new body of work. We will fluctuate between direct group instruction, demonstration, individual instruction, and ample open studio work time. This allows students to learn new processes/techniques and explore them through hands-on work while seeking advice from the instructor and other students. Students will finish this course with the creation of a new art object: an artist book, a suite of prints, or a new body of works.
