Color & Shape: Abstract Portraits - 5 weeks

CourseGraphic Create fun, exciting portraits in gouache or in any painting medium of your choice. Working from a photo or your imagination, learn how to transform planes, areas, and features of a face into abstracted shapes, and then let your imagination run wild with color. Our goal is different than traditional portraiture; it doesn’t have to “look like” anyone. Your work will focus more on design, color, and expression.  Experiment with adding collage elements, such as textures and text.  Gouache is recommended but students may work in their medium of choice.
