We’re taking your favorite art camp and bringing it to your home! Online art camp is a half-day camp for young artists ready to graduate to the next level, where they will explore art media and techniques in greater depth. The materials fee covers a specially curated art supply kit that is custom designed for each week of camp, which will be available for curbside pickup at the Art Center the week prior to the camp. Each camp culminates with a virtual art exhibition. This camp will be taught by the same talented teaching artists you know and love from the Art Center, who will be teaching remotely using Zoom. All you need to participate is a computer, tablet, or phone with internet access to Zoom. The week prior to camp, you will receive an email with the private Zoom link for your camp.
As in-person camps will be taking place, we have arranged the following art kit curbside pickup times to avoid camp drop-off and pick-up car lines. The art kit curbside pickup times for this week of camp are: Tues. 8/4 from 4-6pm; Wed. 8/5 & Thurs. 8/6 from 12-2pm and 4-9pm; Fri. 8/7 from 12-2pm and 4-6pm; Sat. 8/8 & Sun. 8/9 from 10am-4pm. The last time to enroll in this camp is Sunday, 8/9 at 12pm.

Learn to create beautiful art with papers you painted yourself! Each day we will learn new painting techniques to explore on a variety of papers that you will use to create a new artwork each day. You will discover how to become a printmaker without using a press by using a gelli-plate and will learn to make monoprints with simple supplies. We will discuss composition and elements of design like form and color and how to making textures from up-cycled household objects which we will supply in your materials kit. At the end of the week you will have at least four different collages completed from papers you painted yourself and a booklet filled with some of your paper samples so you will have them for future reference. In addition to the art supplies in this week’s supply kit, you will need to have the following: something to cover your work surface (newspaper, plastic tablecloth, etc.), 1 pair of scissors, 1 ruler, 1 small container for paint water (such as a single serving yogurt cup), paper towels, magazines, and newspaper.
