We’re taking your favorite art camp and bringing it to your home! Online art camp is a half-day camp for young artists ready to graduate to the next level, where they will explore art media and techniques in greater depth. The materials fee covers a specially curated art supply kit that is custom designed for each week of camp, which will be available for curbside pickup at the Art Center the week prior to the camp. Each camp culminates with a virtual art exhibition that will be recorded and shared with parents. This camp will be taught by the same talented teaching artists you know and love from the Art Center, who will be teaching remotely using Zoom. All you need to participate is a computer, tablet, or phone with internet access to Zoom. The week prior to camp, you will receive an email with the private Zoom link for your camp.
July 13–17, 1–4:30 PM
Create art in the round! Tweens will learn to use sculpting tools and techniques to create 3D sculptures. Tweens will go beyond just the hand-building process—they will learn more advanced techniques to refine and build their sculptures. Students will work with a variety of sculpture materials and complete a 3D sculpture during this camp. In addition to the art supplies in this week’s supply kit, you will need to have the following: something to cover your work surface (newspaper, plastic tablecloth, etc.), 1 pair of scissors, 1 ruler, and 1 small container for paint water (such as a single serving yogurt cup), 3–4 feet of aluminum foil, and 1 rolling pin or something you can use as a roller such as a tall cup or a wooden dowel.
