Sip & Sample: Art Camp for Adults
Wednesdays, 7–9:30 PM
Sip wine, enjoy snacks, and make art! Our talented teaching artists will introduce you to a new art media each week, which may include ceramics, painting, drawing, or pastel. Perfect for groups of friends, couples, or anyone wanting to create art in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. No art experience is necessary. We’ll provide snacks and some beverages, but you are welcome to also BYOB.
Wednesday 7/8: Ceramics on the Wheel
Learn to create functional ceramics using the pottery wheel. This class will include a demonstration on centering and throwing, then you will apply what you have learned to the wheel. The teacher will provide one-on one-assistance. Forms that you can make will make include bowls, cups, and vases.
Wednesday 7/15: Acrylic Paintings
This week, you will create still life paintings inspired by artist Pierre Bonnard. The focus will be on working with form, color, and a looser style of brushstroke to create a simple composition.
Wednesday 7/22: Mosaic
Learn the basics of mosaic, including creating a composition, working with various types of tiles, laying out the work, and grouting. You will have a completed mosaic stepping stone at the end of class.
Wednesday 7/29: Charcoal Drawing
Work alongside the instructor, building a still life with black and white charcoal. This simple project will be easy to follow and fun to create.
