Loop in loop chains represent the most classical pieces of jewelry from ancient times. This workshop will introduce the fascinating procedure of loop in loop chain making. We will cover coiling and cutting jump rings, fusing links, loop in loop construction, and finishing processes. We will discuss terminations (fused, as well as soldered) and “S” hook clasps. Basic and more complicated chains will be covered. Students may have time to complete a small project, but will leave the workshop with the knowledge to complete a chain on their own. Students will use a crème brûleé torch provided by the instructor, so it is a great introduction to working with a flame for first-timers or those nervous with working with torches. All materials provided.
