Summer camp at the Art Center is a one-week, hands-on camp that gives middles school and high school students an in-depth studio experience. Designed to empower teen artists by engaging their creativity and building their skills, students are introduced to two forms of artistic expression each week. Small class sizes, grouped by age & experience, enable our instructors to take a deep dive with the students so that they can build technique and grow their individual style
Studio Concentrations for the week of June 25-29:
Geometric Abstraction in Painting - During this week of camp, students will learn how to create incredible works of art without referencing representational images! Students will be limited to the use of shapes and straight-edges to create an engaging composition. The instructor will review the principles of design to help students understand the best ways to arrange their abstract compositions.
Fine Art Digital Photography - In this class, students will learn different techniques that help make a great photograph, such as lighting, shutter speed, and basic photo editing. Students will learn how to compose a great photo with whatever camera they have.
