Professional Development for Teachers: Mixed Media with Kat Block

CourseGraphic Join us for this hands-on professional development day with mixed media collage artist, Kat Block! Participants will engage in a small tour of the community gallery where they will view a variety of collage artworks by Kat Block and then create a mixed media collage piece of their very own using paper, glue, scissors and more. During the first session, participants will gain knowledge and techniques about composition and layering by making a mandala collage using origami paper. Afterwards, they will apply what they have learned and tear, cut, paste different kinds of paper (scrap, tissue, metallic, pastel and painted watercolor) to bring a beach scenery to life. The artist, Kat Block, will provide reference photos, guidance, and support along the way. This program is a great way to collaborate, learn new skills, improve your work and have a taste of summer!
