This offering is for young artists ready to graduate to the next level of Art Camp, where they will explore art media and techniques in greater depth during two daily studio sessions. Our talented teaching artists will guide tweens in developing their own personal style while they learn and refine their art skills.


Watercolor Explorations and Character Design (4 days)
Monday, June 29 - Thursday, July 2, 10 AM–3 PM (camp does NOT meet on Friday, July 3)

Watercolor Exploration: Watercolor is a classic painting medium that builds upon drawing skills and incorporates color theory. The foundations of watercolor painting and color mixing will be explored as campers are introduced to a variety of techniques, including basic washes, layering of paints, and how to create strong compositions with the interplay of dark and light values.

Character Design: During this week of camp, campers will learn to design their own character(s) for comic books, graphic novels, or cartoons. They will focus on personality and expression, plus learn anatomy and posing using the human body as reference. We will also have a chance to explore costume design for their character. All of this will come together in a project that features the character(s) they created.

Pricing Per Week
(member discounts apply to members at the dual/family level and above)
Week of June 29–July 2: $435/week members; $445/week non-members (4-day week)
Please note there is no Early Bird Discount for the 4-day week of camp. 

 
Flexible Extended Care
Our flexible extended care options make busy family schedules easier while also giving students more time to create and explore. Extended care is a welcoming space to start or end the camp day with free-choice art activities and games in a fun and relaxed environment. Flexible, affordable, and supervised by caring staff, these options are the perfect extension of the camp day. You can purchase single days or full-week care starting at 8 AM and ending at 5:30 PM.

The following options are available:
$30 for early drop-off OR late pick-up per day
$115 for a full week of early drop-off OR late pick-up
$190 for a full week of early drop-off AND late pick-up
