Take a deep dive into understanding how to work with watercolors, starting with the basics. Explore watercolor tools, surfaces, techniques, and painting from a very portable perspective—using supplies that can follow you from home to the studio and then on the road. Subject matter will include simple still life objects, photo references, and art references. Students will learn to perceive, mix, and paint local color, utilizing a limited color palette, as well as see values and use drawing to help improve your work. More advanced students can participate in the beginner exercises as a refresher or work independently with the instructor’s guidance.
