Artivism is the practice of using creative, artistic expression to promote social, environmental, or political change. Craftivism combines craft and activism, using hands-on art-making as a tool for reflection and social engagement. This class introduces teens to stencil-making, banner-creation, and printmaking techniques while allowing them to find their own voice on a specific subject matter they are passionate about. Students will to learn how artists have historically collaborated to challenge injustice and envision a more equitable world. The instructor for this class is fluent in American Sign Language.
