Dive into the world of color using a limited palette in this class. Students will learn how to create strong color harmony and unity by viewing a variety of famous examples like the Zorn palette: Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red (or Vermillion), Ivory Black, and White (great for portraits/muted tones); the Primary Triad palette: Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red Light, Ultramarine Blue, and White (for vibrant, broad ranges): and the Basic Landscape palette Yellow Light, Winsor Red, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue, and White (plus optional Green). This approach will enhance your color mixing, tonal understanding, and achieve cohesion in complex scenes, making paintings feel more intentional and unified.
